August Newsletter – The “Dog Days” Are a Sign of Renovation Season

August.  The “Dog Days.”  The heat of the summer.  School is starting or about to start everywhere around the country.  Fall sport seasons are starting and baseball and softball can often be an afterthought for many places without fall options for them.  This is often one of our busiest times of year as far as installations go.  This is often the case not only for our Homefield installation crew, but also for other contractors around the country.

The late summer and fall season is a key time to get field work done in many areas around the country due to the weather.  As the weather turns and the ground freezes in the northern climates, it makes preparing fields for the spring a difficult task.  Oftentimes, teams are scrambling in the spring, largely dealing with snow melts, rain and overly saturated fields that inhibit further getting those spring games in.  In southern climates where the season usually begins earlier, it’s also an important time to get field projects done and contact installers to fit you in their schedules.

Schedules for contractors usually fill up quickly during the fall season.  It is very important right now, if you are planning a field renovation project, to contact an installer in hopes of getting on their usually busy late summer/fall schedules.  Avoid being rushed and pushed back until the early spring where conditions often make it more difficult to schedule around.

On the flip side, if you are planning to tackle these smaller projects yourself, this is the time to reach out to your local distributor or to us directly to make sure the products you need are there and ready when the time comes.  Don’t wait until it’s too late in the game to avoid supply or weather issues inhibiting you getting those projects done.  Failing to prepare, is preparing to fail.  We are here to help.
